Jolade is a poet, director and self-taught photographer based in East London.

He is passionate about telling the stories of the places and people he encounters throughout his travels with work. His work relies on his intimate candid style which involves little to no interruption as possible to let moments breathe and tell their own truth.

Jolade has been commissioned by Kodak, Expedia, Red Bull as well as many general members of the public for personal projects.

His work has been featured in Pitch Magazine, Stylist Mag, VSCO, Kodak, Afri-Radio, Guardian Series, Expedia UK, HIIVE and he was listed on The Dots as one of their 100 Black Creatives Championing Diversity. 

Places worked in include: Bali, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Nigeria, USA, Turkey, the Nederlands, France, Scotland, Spain, Sicily, Gambia and Kenya.

Jolade has performed internationally and written poetry commissions for BET, Barbican, TFL, Ernst & Young, Roundhouse, BBC 1Xtra and many more. He has directed short films, documentaries, campaigns, poetry films and music videos on a global scale having worked for the likes of Red Bull Music, BCA, Musicalize, Kodak, Sony, Columbia Records, Expedia and more. 

He is a Barbican Young Poet Alumni, finalist of the first ever Young Poet Laureate for London programme, winner of Outspoken Prize for Poetry Award and the Outspoken Performance Prize in 2017.

Jolade is a Vodafone Foundation Scholar, One Young World delegate, serves on the board of Writez and Scribez; a CIC creative arts company, an active youth mentor in his local community, poetry/film facilitator and parkour athlete/coach. Also, he regularly travels fusing his passion for stories, people and culture in the work he creates.
